(Almost) an old married lady

My cold is pretty much gone. I still have a few residual effects and I'm unbelievably tired, but at least I can breathe somewhat normally again. Woo hoo.

Three. Days. Three days until I become Mrs. Joseph R. Let me just say one more time: I'm getting married in 3 days! Actually, 65 hours and like 7 minutes from now I'll be standing at the altar with the love of my life professing that love and promising to be his faithful partner til the end of our days. Wow. WOW. I waited 31 years to meet my soul mate and in less than 72 hours I get to stand hand in hand with him and become his wife. I am the luckiest person EVER. And my future husband is the coolest.

A brief non-sequitur: Sasha just high-tailed it onto my lap because Joe turned the vacuum on. Yep, all 65 pounds of her landed squarely on my stomach...yummy. She's not a fan of the vacuum. I, on the other hand, love the vacuum...especially when Joe is behind it... he's such a domestic god...

Where was I? Right, the wedding...in 3 days! I'm trying to relish these last hours, insane though they have been, because I know everything is going to happen so fast on Saturday. And then it's off to the Pokonos for 4 days, then before you know it, it will be back to reality for us. Jeez, I already have us back from our honeymoon and we're not even married yet!

Sleep deprivation

Yeah, I haven't been so good about keeping up with the old blog lately. And in fact the next few entries are likely to be hella short because there are just not enough hours in the day right now to do all that needs to be done. Our house is still in construction phase, which is like, not much fun, and the wedding is sneaking up on us and the last-minute details are starting to kick my ass. I'm trying to keep up with work, home, wedding, and whatever else, and all I really want to do is get a good night's sleep! {Sigh} OK, I'm over myself. Wait, not yet. Know what else? I have a miserable summer cold that is making me oh-so cranky right now! OK, there. And I think I have a fever. {SIGH}

I really need a nap.

Girls' Night Out

My. Friends. Rock. Truly. Tonight was my bachelorette party. I came in about an hour ago to a slumbering house; slumbering save for Sasha, who greeted me with her usual full-on ass-wiggle and tongue-wagging enthusiasm. Man I love my dog.

Anyway. Twelve of us went out tonight for a final night of debauchery and daring (not) before yours truly ties the knot in {gasp} 14 days! Fourteen days! What a blast! We went to Abington Ale House for a little dinner and a couple of drinks, then off to the Charlie Horse for some dancing (and maybe a few more drinks...). We closed the place at 2:00 AM, then contemplated (albeit briefly) heading over to Bickford's for the requisite big stack after a night of imbibing. But soon after hitting the warm night air after leaving the club we remembered we weren't 21 anymore, and we decided to go to our respective homes and go to bed. Good choice.

But while we were out, we had a roaring good time. Stay tuned for some cool pics. My friends took a great one of the cop on detail getting ready to cuff me (simply for entertainment purposes), and another of several hunky guys surrounding me at our table. To get this shot, my friend T actually approached these guys and said, and I quote, "My friend's getting married in 2 weeks and we want to get a picture of her with the hottest guys in the club...care to follow me?" Subtle. But effective, I guess. So these pics and more are on there way...but probably not 'til after the honeymoon cause I'm a little crazy these days...
